I love every single tree in our garden, they are my silent friends. Trees, like all living things, have a lifespan. This drawing was a homage to a magnificent three trunked birch tree that resided on one corner of our house. In death it became even more fascinating as the polypore fungi ( Birch polypore )that consumed it took center stage. Anything that is decaying is between form and formlessness, a kind of visual Sutra.
