I have an on going obsession with fungi. They really inspire me to stop and look deeply at them. I think it is something to do with the fact that they come across to me as the missing link between the plant world and the world of flesh and bodies ... Their diverse colors and forms gave birth to this drawing. The structure beneath this drawing is called the Flower of Life ( interlocking circles). I employ this geometric pattern, used extensively in islamic design, beneath many of my drawings, as it represents the building blocks by which Nature creates. Visually it instills an innate order very pleasing to the eye.
